So this week Darin has been working his fun week of nights. Since I hate being alone at night, I took the kids and we went down to my moms house for the night. Well as I got the kids in the car late at night to go pick Darin up from work, MyKelle starts telling me a story. I wanted to share it with all of you while it is still fresh in my memory!
MyKelle: Mom, I'm playing with the prettiest birds. They are pink and blue, my favorite colors!
Me: Oh that's nice MyKelle. How long have you had these birds?
MyKelle: I just got barely got them.
Me: That's cool. Where did you get them from?
MyKelle: I got them from the store. The guy at the store told me that they were hundreds of dollars! (very boastingly now) But I didn't pay that!!! I just took the birds without paying! (very proud of herself!!!) I stole them mom!!! (very happy)
(Okay so here I am in the car, with my daughter very happy and proud about the fact that she stole Pretend birds from the Pretend store. So now what to do? Well since I have spent all night trying to write a talk on Repentance for sacrament meeting on sunday, I thought that I should let MyKelle know that what she did was wrong.)
Me: MyKelle you know that your not supposed to steal!
MyKelle: I know.
Me: So now what should we do?
MyKelle: Play with my birds, of course!!
Me: No, you need to go back to your pretend store and give the pretend man his pretend money to pay for your pretend birds!
MyKelle: ummmmm, he's not there. The store is closed.
Me: Then go to his pretend house.
MyKelle: Maybe later.
Me: Then I will take your pretend birds back to the pretend store myself and you won't be able to play with them anymore!
MyKelle: NO MOM!
Well i think you get the picture. She never did pay the pretend man, So i took her pretend birds away! If only she knew that I really had no way of taking her pretend birds away!!! I mean they are only pretend! Gotta love kids!!!

That's so cute! Way to teach her the right things early! MyKelle is so adorable! Addison loves her already..I can't wait until she's a little older and they can be best friends!
Update: Yesterday MyKelle informed me that she went back to her pretend store and told the guy that she was sorry and paid hiim the pretend $100.00! So she now has her two pretend birds back. All is well in zion!
