My kids are growing up whether I like it or not!

My kids are growing up way too fast! Here are just a few things that they are doing.
Gage was attached to his binki! I have been trying to take it away from him while he was awake and just let him have it while he sleeps. But I just haven't been able to do it! He just cries during the day when he doesn't have it. So last month when he bit through the end of his binki (picture below!) I was secretly happy. I decided that he was done! I wasn't going to go buy a new binki for a two year old! We had a few rough nights. And it is still hard to get him to take a nap, but he is so much happier during the day. He has now stopped asking for his binki! I'm so excited! Mykelle didn't get rid of her binki until she was 3!
Gage has also started a new thing. He calls me "mommya". It was really funny at first. We would joke that he was either Italian or from Canada. But now it's getting old! But still kinda cute! :)
MyKelle is doing a lot of things that make me tell her that she can't get any older! Last month in preschool I was testing all the kids on their shapes, colors, and alaphabet. Well MyKelle knows them all! Since she knows all of her letters and the sounds that they make, we are starting to read with her! In preschool we send home cute little sight word books and word family books to those few kids that know all of their alphabet! I'm so proud of MyKelle that she gets to be one of those students this year. The really cool thing is she still has one more year of preschool before kindergarten! Good job MyKelle!

This is MyKelle holding her first book that she read! It's called farm friends. And we focused on the words: I, see. She thought that it was so cool to try and sound out all the sounds!

Some other things that MyKelle is doing is she is talking like an adult! The other day she woke up and I was trying to get her to hurry and get ready for preschool and she says to me, "Mom I am just not inspired today. I think maybe you should help me." I'm not sure where she learned the word inspired!
She has also been a huge help around the house! Whenever I ask her to go get me something like a diaper she says, "Of course I will get that for you!" The funny thing is when she's says it and you know she really doesn't want to do it! She is so cute and so sweet!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

I am so glad my granddaughter has such a great pre-school teacher. She read the book to me. Such a smart kiddo. You're doing a great job momma.
